Why do so many women still die in pregnancy or childbirth? If our films always seemed a realistic vision of reality then a simple conversation with your good will solve all your problems and after a hangover you would find the job of your dreams. As with so many everyday situations and childbirth and childbirth are not presented as they should, many myths have been created for the stage, but also the emotions of the day that will bring the world to your child.

In the United States, the maternal death rate averaged 9.1 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births during the years 1979–1986, but then rose rapidly to 14 per 100,000 in 2000 and 17.8 per 100,000 in 2009. Myth: To start the confinement must break the water!

Remember the Miranda in Sex and the City gets to panic when the waters broke ... on the new shoes of Carrie and immediately go to the clinic to give birth. In fact many women give birth without having broken their waters, while contractions (mild) before so you might not know that the delivery has begun.

Myth: There is only one right time for epidural anesthesia

If you make it too late, the delivery will take longer if you make it too early may need to do a cesarean. No, doctors insist that it is never the wrong time to ask for the epidural!

Myth: If you have large region, will birth more easily!

Women with bigger basin will give birth more easily, but the size of the basin you can not figure out just watching the periphery of a woman!

Myth: Spicy foods help to provoke the birth!

There has been scientifically proven and in fact there is no (non-medical) method according to doctors can do something.

Myth: Your doctor will be with you throughout labor.

It is not necessary but may occur. Some doctors come to the delivery room only while leaving give birth midwife by your side and others are with you all the time!

Myth: If births by Caesarean should barrels caesarean again next time

This was so long ago, but now many doctors allow the opposite since it is considered safe for most women. Of course, the final decision of your doctor!
