Using coconut oil on your hair can be totally amazing.
Well, one of the major perks about using coconut oil is that coconut oil stimulates hair growth by getting deep into its follicles. It also moisturizes dry hair while adding luster, shine and softness to your hair.

Coconut oil can also prevent hair breakage and split ends which in result, can contribute to hair growth. AND! If that’s not good enough, coconut oil slows down hair loss. Boom!
How To Use Coconut Oil On Your HairSource:
To apply coconut oil properly throughout your hair, check out the steps below:
  1. Put on an old t-shirt. Since coconut oil can get a little drippy and messy, put on an old t-shirt or an article of clothing you particularly don’t care for, to prevent it from ruining your nice clothes. (Just looking out!)
  2. Get a plastic shower cap to cover your hair. Or choose something that you’ll be able to keep in place for several hours, or even overnight. You’ll also need a hair band.
  3. Measure 3 – 5 tablespoons of unrefined coconut oil into a bowl. The amount of coconut oil you’ll need depends on the length and thickness of your hair. If you have long, thick hair, consider using up to 5 tablespoons and if your hair is shorter and thinner, you might want to only use 3 or 4 tablespoons.
    • Note: Unrefined coconut oil is complete in its natural, healthy goodness while refined coconut oil has additives and is put through processes that remove some of the natural compounds that make it so healthy for your hair and skin.
  4.  Warm up the coconut oil. When warming up the oil, avoid using the microwave as it can destroy the bio-active compounds. Try using the stove or by by running the jar under hot water in a sink until it melts which should only take a few seconds.
  5. Focus the oil on the middle section and bottom of your hair. And make sure not to use too much. Remember that your hair already produces its own natural oils that come from the scalp so i if you use too much, especially near the scalp, your hair might end up looking greasy even when washed out thoroughly.
  6. Rub the coconut oil into your hair. Pour the coconut oil around the top of your head, evenly distributing it on your hair, but you might want to avoid the scalp and roots unless your hair is especially dry. Use your fingers to massage the oil in and continue massaging it in until your hair is completely drenched in coconut oil.
    • Use a comb to help you distribute the oil evenly.
    • Condition the ends of your hair, rather than the roots if you find your hair tends to get greasy. If that’s the case, apply the coconut oil to the ends of your hair instead of pouring it over your scalp and massage it in with your hands.
  7. Tie your hair up and put on your shower cap. Secure your hair with a hair band to help it all stay wrapped up on top of your head. After placing your shower cap on, use a towel to wipe away any excess coconut oil.
  8. Keep the coconut oil in for 2 hours or overnight. The longer you keep it in your hair, the more conditioned your hair will be. Wait as long as you can manage for best effect.
  9. Remove the shower cap from your hair and wash it. Use your favorite shampoo to wash out the coconut oil. Wash your hair anywhere from 2-3 times or until your hair no longer feels oily.
  10. Let your hair dry. Let it air dry or blow it dry to see the effects of the conditioning treatment. Your end result should be: hair that is soft, shiny and absolutely amazing!
